The NSF-FPA support students traditionally underrepresented in medicine to eliminate the financial barriers to obtaining a medical school education. The NSF-FPA aims to create an equitable process by providing funding for unmet financial needs related to: unpaid summer internships related to medicine, preparation for medical school, participation in pipeline programs, MCAT test preparation, medical school application costs, medical school admissions costs, and medical school tuition/fees. Support in these key areas creates a fair and equitable process for all students, regardless of race and ethnicity to become a licensed medical physician.
